About - The Elite Prospects Draft Series

About the Elite Prospects Draft Series

The Elite Prospects Draft Series is a competitive four-day event for 14U AAA and 15U AAA divisions, taking place April 9 to 12, 2026.

As a signature event within Silent Ice Sports and Entertainment, the Draft Series reimagines the traditional postseason tournament. All participating players are entered into a live draft, creating new teams, new teammates, new coaches, and a completely new competitive environment. It is designed to strengthen the overall community of the JPHL while delivering a high-level showcase experience.

The Draft

All participating players are entered into a draft prior to the event. Coaching staffs remain together and draft players from other hubs to form new teams for the weekend. Teams compete under their assigned charity name for the duration of the event.

Tournament Format

Newly formed teams compete in:

  • Team practice prior to tournament games
  • Round robin play
  • Semi finals
  • Championship final

Showcase Environment for Scouts

The Elite Prospects Draft Series creates a unique evaluation setting for scouts and advisors. Players compete alongside and against athletes from across the league in unfamiliar line combinations and systems. This format highlights hockey IQ, adaptability, communication, and leadership in real time.

Scouts are able to evaluate players outside of their regular team structure, offering a clearer look at individual impact and decision making under competitive pressure.

Charity Component

Each team represents a charity throughout the event. Each team is required to set up a Canada Helps fundraiser and work toward a minimum fundraising goal. Players are encouraged to actively support their team’s charitable efforts following the draft.
